Jonah Hex

Jonah Hex is a scarred bounty hunter and former Confederate soldier who is offered his freedom in exchange for hunting down Quentin Turnbull, a one-time Confederate officer turned terrorist. Turnbull has acquired a devastating weapon and plans a large-scale attack on the United States, and he is also the man responsible for the deaths of Hex's wife and child, so the assignment becomes a chance for revenge as well. Hex's only steady human contact is Leila, a sex worker he visits between jobs, while Turnbull's henchman Burke and a military officer named Lieutenant Grass figure on either side of the pursuit. The film is based on the DC Comics character created in the 1970s.

The movie was directed by Jimmy Hayward, following his animated Horton Hears a Who! and preceding Free Birds, and was written by Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine. Josh Brolin plays Hex, with John Malkovich as Turnbull, Megan Fox as Leila, Michael Fassbender as Burke, Will Arnett as Lieutenant Grass and Aidan Quinn as Ulysses S. Grant. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures, DC Comics and Weed Road Pictures, it runs 81 minutes.

Made for about 47 million dollars, the film returned roughly 11 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 4.7/10 from around 65,000 votes, and on TMDB 5/10 from over 1,500 votes, with a critics' rating of 3.5/10 from 152 reviews.
