Set in 1917 Portugal, this drama focuses on three children living in Villa Fatima named Lucinda, Jacita, and Francisco. Their lives are permanently transformed after they experience a vision of the Virgin Mary.
The film was directed by Fabrizio Costa, marking the first of two films he has directed, followed by Seduci e scappa in 2026. It was produced through a collaboration between companies from Italy and Portugal, including Lux Vide and RTP. The screenplay was written by Paolo Festuccia, Mario Falcone, and Ennio De Concini. The cast features Diogo Infante as Dário Costa Carvalho and Catarina Furtado in the role of a fado singer named Margarida. Randi Ingerman portrays Nossa Senhora de Fátima, while the children are played by Vanessa Antunes, Vanessa Staiss, and Filipe Carvalho. The production involved a credited cast of 27 performers and has a total runtime of 104 minutes.
