Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion

After Madoka Kaname sacrificed her own existence to rewrite the laws of the universe and save other magical girls from a cruel fate, the world changed. While witches were erased, despair still manifests as creatures called nightmares. Homura Akemi is the only person who remembers the original reality and the sacrifice Madoka made. She continues to fight alone, driven by the hope of seeing her friend smile once more, while questioning if the current world is real or a magical illusion.

This Japanese animation, fantasy, and mystery film was produced by SHAFT and written by Gen Urobuchi. It was co-directed by Akiyuki Simbo, Yukihiro Miyamoto, and Takashi Kawabata. For Simbo and Miyamoto, it followed their work on the first two parts of the trilogy, while Kawabata had previously directed the first part. The voice cast features Aoi Yuki, Chiwa Saito, Eri Kitamura, Kaori Mizuhashi, Ai Nonaka, and Kana Asumi. The production involved a credited crew of 132 and a cast of 25.

Released in 2013 with a runtime of 117 minutes, the film earned 13 million USD at the worldwide box office. It maintains a positive audience reception, with a rating of 7.7/10 on TMDB based on 209 votes.
