Short description
Jigsaw has disappeared. Along with his new apprentice Amanda, the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detective scrambles to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon and Jeff Reinhart are unaware that they are about to become the latest pawns on his vicious chessboard.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Lee Wannell wrote the film's screenplay in one week.
  • The screenplay is based on a plot by James Wan (one of the screenwriters and director of 'Saw' (2004)).
  • The producers of the film borrowed the toilet set from the creators of 'Scary Movie 4' (2006). The reason is that these sets exactly replicated the sets from 'Saw' (2004) and 'Saw II' (2005).
  • It was originally intended that Donnie Wahlberg reprise his role as Detective Eric Matthews. The character was supposed to appear in flashbacks, but Wahlberg left the project before filming began due to creative differences.
  • According to Darren Bousman, many plot points were borrowed from posts on the forum www.houseofjigsaw.com.
  • The film is dedicated to the memory of Gregg Hoffman, the producer of the first two films, who passed away in December 2005.
  • In 2006, the film was included in the list of works prohibited from distribution in the Republic of Belarus by resolution of the State Registration Committee No. 331.
  • The film was re-edited seven times to obtain an R rating.
  • Corbett is named after Lee Wanell Corbett's friend, Tak.
  • Initially, the trap Kerry was placed in was designed to tear off her limbs, but later this trap was modified.
  • Originally, a police officer was planned to be the victim for the freezer. When the decision was made to put Denika in the freezer, she was initially supposed to be wearing a t-shirt and underwear.
  • Several versions of the scene where Jeff kills John were filmed. The only difference between the scenes is the weapon he uses to take his revenge.
  • When Dr. Lynn examines a child with a pneumothorax and drainage, the nurse exclaims that the patient's condition is improving. However, at that moment the monitor shows ventricular fibrillation (VF) and severe arrhythmia, which is fatal if not immediately corrected with electricity. Then the monitor suddenly shows a stable heart rhythm. Such a situation is practically impossible to see in clinical practice.
  • Despite Jeff and the Judge being in a tank with a liquid mass of chopped pigs, they remained clean and dry throughout the film.
  • When the Constructor pulls out the tape recorder at the end of the film, his thumb is on the top cover, away from the play button. Nevertheless, a distinct click (as if the button has been pressed) is heard, and the tape starts to spin, even though the button hasn't been pressed.
  • When Dr. Lynn Denlon prepares for the Constructor's operation, her hair is sometimes tied back and sometimes loose.
  • When Lynn operates on John, she opens the top layer of skin down to the skull and clamps some parts of it. Then, after she asks Amanda to fill a syringe with alcohol and wipes blood from the operating area, the clamps are gone. In the next shot, when the alcohol is sprayed, they reappear.
  • When Jeff shoots Amanda in the neck, she falls to the floor near a white cabinet. As the scene continues, the cabinet is sometimes splattered with her blood and sometimes completely clean.
  • In "Angels" trap, Kerry dips her hand into acid and severely burns it, however, in all subsequent scenes, there are no burns on her hand.
  • At the 4-minute mark, Matthews takes off his sock to amputate his leg. Shortly after, the sock reappears on his leg, and when he decides to break his foot, the sock disappears.
  • At the 14-minute mark of the film, a key dissolves in a jar of acid next to Carrie. Throughout this scene, the intensity of the gas bubbles produced by the chemical reaction changes, disappears altogether, or reappears with each shot change.
  • At the 17th minute of the film, the acid in the jar becomes colored with Kerry's blood, and the degree of coloration changes with each frame change during this scene. After the trap is triggered, the liquid in the jar is clear again.
  • At the 29th minute of the film, Amanda cocks the hammers on a collar with shotgun shells worn by Lynn. It can be noticed that the collar poses no danger, as all the cartridges have damaged primers.
  • At the 31st minute of the film, Jeff kicks out two planks of a box with his foot, but in the next frame, it can be seen from the outside that he has only kicked out one plank.
  • At the 50th minute of the film, Lynn approaches a light-colored mannequin head with a snare trap attached to it. When Lynn reaches out to the head, it appears dark, and in the next frame change, the head becomes light again.
  • At the 79th minute of the film, Amanda tries to find Adam in the dark. When she illuminates him with a flashlight beam, it can be noticed for a moment that his legs are not chained.
