Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th is a documentary that examines how the Friday the 13th series came together, from the original 1980 film set around a New Jersey summer camp through the later entries and the 2009 reboot. Drawing on Peter M. Bracke's book of the same name, it gathers new interviews with the performers and crew who worked on the twelve films, alongside photographs, outtakes, archival documents and concept art.
Daniel Farrands directed and wrote the documentary, and Thommy Hutson produced it through Hutson Ranch Media. It followed Farrands's earlier Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, a similar project about another horror franchise. Corey Feldman narrates and appears among the participants, who also include Bracke and a large roster of cast and crew; 166 people are credited in all. The film runs 400 minutes, reflecting its intention to cover every instalment in depth.
The documentary was released in September 2013. On IMDb it holds a rating of 8.5 from around 2,900 votes, and on TMDB 7.9 from roughly 112 votes, indicating strong approval from those who have seen it.
