Music Box

Ann Talbot is a Chicago defense attorney whose father, Mike Laszlo, has his American citizenship revoked when he is accused of war crimes. A Hungarian immigrant who has lived in the United States since the end of the Second World War, he insists the charges are a mistake, and Ann takes on his defense. As the case proceeds, she begins to question what she believed about her father and finds the matter harder to resolve than she expected.

Costa-Gavras directed the film, working from a screenplay by Joe Eszterhas, with Irwin Winkler producing. It followed Betrayed in the director's filmography and arrived in the same decade as Missing. Jessica Lange plays Ann, with Armin Mueller-Stahl as Mike Laszlo. Donald Moffat, Lukas Haas, Cheryl Lynn Bruce and Mari Törőcsik appear in supporting roles, among a credited cast of twenty-five and a credited crew of sixty-one.
