Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened

Five Genesect take up residence in a large city, where their nest endangers the power plant that supplies it. The arrival of these Pokémon draws the attention of the legendary Mewtwo, and the situation escalates when the group's red-coloured leader confronts it. Ash, Pikachu and their friends step in to prevent disaster. The film is set during the Black & White era of the series and features Iris and Cilan among the travelling companions.

Kunihiko Yuyama directed, with a screenplay by Hideki Sonoda. It is the twenty-first of the twenty-eight films he has directed in chronological order, following Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice and preceding Pokémon: Mewtwo - Prologue to Awakening. Rica Matsumoto voices Ash and Ikue Otani voices Pikachu, with Aoi Yuki, Minami Tsuda and Mamoru Miyano also in the cast. The production involved The Pokémon Company, OLM and several broadcast and marketing partners. It runs 96 minutes and took about 32 million USD worldwide.

Audience scores are modest and split by platform: 6.4 out of 10 on TMDB from a small number of votes, and 5.5 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 1,900 votes.
