The Haunted World of El Superbeasto

The Haunted World of El Superbeasto follows a masked former wrestler who now works as a producer, director and star in his own exploitation films. Alongside his sister Suzi X, a secret agent with a robot partner named Murray, he takes on the villainous Dr. Satan, who has abducted the stripper Velvet Von Black. Dr. Satan intends to marry her because a prophecy says the union will give him enormous power. The story plays out in the fantastical setting of Monsterland, mixing animation with action, comedy, horror and music.

Rob Zombie directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Tom Papa. It arrived in 2009, between Halloween II and The Lords of Salem, as the sixth of the ten features he has directed. The voice cast includes Tom Papa as El Superbeasto, Sheri Moon Zombie as Suzi X, Paul Giamatti as Dr. Satan and Rosario Dawson as Velvet Von Black, with Ken Foree among the credited performers, 35 in total. It was made for about 10 million US dollars.
