Get a Horse! is a short animated film in which Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow take a musical ride on a hay wagon. Their outing is interrupted by Peg-Leg Pete, who tries to force them off the road with his own vehicle. The cartoon blends hand-drawn animation with modern techniques, and much of it is staged in the style of 1930s Disney shorts, including a voice performance by Walt Disney himself as Mickey. Russi Taylor and Marcellite Garner both provide the voice of Minnie, while Billy Bletcher and Will Ryan voice Pete. Lauren MacMullan directed, with Dorothy McKim producing for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The film runs eight minutes and was released in late 2013. It belongs to the studio's long tradition of Mickey Mouse cartoons while placing a contemporary technical approach inside an old-fashioned framing. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.5 from roughly 5,900 votes, and on TMDB it scores 7.6 from about 285 votes, so viewers on both platforms rate it similarly and positively, though the two audiences differ greatly in size. The film is generally grouped with animation, comedy and family titles, and its small credited crew of about 40 people reflects the compact scale of a short production rather than a feature.
