Dorian Gray

Dorian Gray is a young aristocrat who returns to London and falls under the influence of Lord Henry Wotton, a man who encourages him to pursue pleasure without restraint. Taken with the idea that his beauty will open every door, Dorian wishes that a portrait painted by his friend Basil Hallward might carry the marks of age and excess in his place, while he himself stays untouched by time.

Oliver Parker directed the film, working from a screenplay by Toby Finlay and producing alongside Barnaby Thompson for Ealing Studios and Fragile Films. Ben Barnes plays the title role, with Colin Firth as Lord Henry Wotton, Ben Chaplin as Basil Hallward, and Rebecca Hall, Emilia Fox and Fiona Shaw among the supporting cast. The film runs 112 minutes.

The story is drawn from Oscar Wilde's novel and is one of several adaptations of it.
