Double Dragon

Double Dragon is set in a flooded Los Angeles of the near future, rebuilt as New Angeles after a devastating earthquake and left largely in the hands of criminal gangs. Orphaned brothers Jimmy and Billy Lee, both skilled in martial arts, come into possession of half of an ancient Chinese talisman. The gang leader Koga Shuko holds the other half and wants theirs as well, since joining the two pieces would give him immense power. The brothers must keep the talisman out of his hands and oppose his hold on the city.

The film is based on the Konami video game series. James Yukich directed it from a screenplay by Michael Davis and Peter Gould, with Jane Hamsher, Don Murphy and Alan Schechter producing. Mark Dacascos and Scott Wolf play the brothers, Robert Patrick plays Shuko, and the cast includes Kristina Wagner, Julia Nickson and Alyssa Milano.

Released in November 1994, the film was made for about 4 million dollars and returned roughly 2 million worldwide. It drew an IMDb rating of 4 out of 10 from around 15,000 votes and a TMDB rating of 4.6 out of 10 from 399 votes. A critics' rating of 3.6 out of 10 across 17 reviews places it in similar territory, with audiences and critics largely in agreement.
