A Boss in the Living Room is an Italian comedy about Cristina, a transplant doctor living in a small town in northern Italy with her husband Michele and their two children. Her orderly life is interrupted when she learns that her brother Ciro, whom she has not seen in fifteen years, is caught up in a Camorra trial and has asked to serve house arrest at her home. Cristina reluctantly agrees, and Ciro's arrival turns the family's tidy routine upside down.
The film was directed by Luca Miniero, who also wrote the screenplay, and it followed his 2010 film Welcome to the South. It came before his later films I'm Back and Bentornati al Sud. Paola Cortellesi plays Cristina, with Rocco Papaleo as Ciro, Luca Argentero as Michele and Angela Finocchiaro as Doriana Manetti. The cast also includes the comedy duo Ale and Franz.
Released in 2014, the film runs 101 minutes and was produced by Cattleya with Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.6 from around 1,600 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 6 from roughly 543 votes, indicating a modest reception from viewers.
