Reach Me is an ensemble drama about strangers whose lives become connected through a motivational book written by Gerald, a former football coach who now lives in seclusion. The book's readers include a police officer leading a double life, a woman recently out of prison, a small-time criminal, and a journalist determined to track down the author in order to advance his own career. Their separate stories gradually intersect as the book's influence draws them together.
John Herzfeld directed and wrote the film, which was produced by Rebekah Chaney, Cassian Elwes and Herzfeld. It was released in 2014 and runs 95 minutes. It is the fifth feature Herzfeld directed, following Two of a Kind, 2 Days in the Valley, 15 Minutes and The Death and Life of Bobby Z, and it precedes Escape Plan: The Extractors. Sylvester Stallone plays Gerald, heading a cast of 34 credited performers that also includes Kyra Sedgwick, Thomas Jane, Terry Crews, Lauren Cohan and Kelsey Grammer.
Made for a budget of 5 million dollars, the film received a critics' rating of 3.2 out of 10 from 23 reviews. On IMDb it holds 4.9 out of 10 from around 3,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 120 votes, indicating limited and largely unfavorable attention.
