Crows Explode

A new school year begins at Suzuran All-Boys High, a month after Genji Takiya's graduation leaves the top spot open. Transfer student Kazeo Kaburagi and Ryohei Kagami compete to fill the vacancy, while tensions build between Suzuran and the nearby Kurosaki Industrial High. Toru Goura is another contender for leadership as the struggle for control widens beyond a single school.

Crows Explode is the fourth film in the Crows Zero series, following the two earlier Crows Zero entries and set in the same world. Toshiaki Toyoda directed, working from a screenplay by Takashi Hasegawa, Mataichirô Yamamoto and Kosuke Mukai, with Yamamoto producing. Masahiro Higashide plays Kaburagi, Taichi Saotome plays Kagami, and Yuya Yagira plays Goura, alongside Ryo Katsuji, Takanori Iwata and Kento Nagayama.

The film was Toyoda's third feature, arriving between Blue Spring and Transcending Dimensions. Released in Japan in April 2014, it grossed about 10 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.7 out of 10 from roughly 1,800 votes, and on TMDB 6.1 out of 10 from 115 votes, a modest response from a small voting base.
