Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror

Six college students set out on a road trip and end up stranded in a small rural town after taking a wrong turn. The place appears deserted, but they soon learn that it is home to a murderous cult of children, and that the group is not welcome. Rather than leave, the friends decide to stay and investigate what is happening in the town, putting themselves at risk as they look into the fate of the children involved.

Ethan Wiley directed and wrote the film, his second feature after House II: The Second Story in 1987. The cast includes Stacy Galina, Alexis Arquette, Adam Wylie, Greg Vaughan, Eva Mendes and Ahmet Zappa, among 26 credited performers. Produced by Jeff Geoffray and Walter Josten for Dimension Films, Miramax and Blue Rider Pictures, it is the fifth entry in the Children of the Corn series and runs 83 minutes.

Made for about 2 million dollars, the film drew low marks from both audiences and critics. On IMDb it holds 3.9 out of 10 from roughly 5,700 votes, and on TMDB 4.1 out of 10 from 188 votes. A critics' rating of 3 out of 10 from seven reviews places it in similar territory, so the two audiences and the reviewers are broadly in agreement about the film.
