Short description
A bride's divorced parents find their old feelings for each other during the wedding reception and over the course of the next few days upsetting the newlywed's honeymoon.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Immediately after the death of Princess Diana in 1997, the film was withdrawn from release in the United Kingdom because Danny Nucci played an intrusive paparazzo in it.
  • Touchstone Pictures hoped that Leslie Dixon would write a screenplay for a sequel to Arthur Hiller’s 1987 comedy “Outrageous Fortune,” but it soon became clear that the feud between Bette Midler and Shelley Long, which manifested during the making of “Outrageous Fortune,” would make approving a script that satisfied both of them a torment. To avoid this, Dixon didn’t think about the sequel at all and wrote a screenplay tailored for Midler.
