Boulevard

Nolan Mack has spent close to 26 years in the same bank job, and his marriage to Joy has settled into a routine of separate bedrooms and little conversation. Driving home one evening, he picks up a young man named Leo, and what starts as a chance encounter grows into a connection that pushes Nolan to reconsider the life he has built and the secrets he has kept from himself.

Boulevard is a drama directed by Dito Montiel, the fifth of the nine features he has made to date in a filmography that includes A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Fighting. Douglas Soesbe wrote the screenplay. Robin Williams plays Nolan, with Kathy Baker as Joy, Roberto Aguirre as Leo, Giles Matthey, Eléonore Hendricks and Bob Odenkirk among a credited cast of 25. The film runs 88 minutes and was released in 2014.

Reception was modest across the board. It holds a 5.8 rating on IMDb from around 9,500 votes and the same 5.8 on TMDB from roughly 292 votes, so viewers on both platforms landed in similar territory. A critics' rating of 5.5 from 72 reviews sits only slightly below those audience figures, suggesting broad agreement rather than a sharp divide.
