This drama follows the life of Mario Moreno, a performer in Mexico City who rises from performing in tents to becoming a major figure in Mexican cinema. While Moreno gains fame, Broadway producer Mike Todd works to bring the ambitious project Around the World in 80 Days to the screen. A chance encounter leads the two men to collaborate on the film, which eventually earns an Academy Award for Best Picture.
