Short description
A conservative Catholic couple in provincial France finds their traditional values challenged as their four daughters marry men from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. While the parents struggle to accept their first three sons-in-law, who are Jewish, Muslim, and Chinese, they place all their hopes on their youngest daughter marrying a fellow Catholic. However, their expectations are upended when they meet her fiancé, a Black man, leading to a series of cultural clashes and tensions between the two families.
The comedy was directed by Philippe de Chauveron and written by Chauveron and Guy Laurent. In the director's career, this film follows Les Parasites and precedes With Open Arms and two subsequent sequels. The movie stars Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby as the parents, alongside Ary Abittan, Medi Sadoun, Frédéric Chau, and Noom Diawara. Produced by UGC with a budget of 13 million USD, the film was a commercial success, earning 65 million USD worldwide.
