Xchange

In the near future, a corporation called Xchange offers a service that lets people travel instantly by transferring their consciousness into another body waiting at the destination. Stephen Toffler, a public relations executive who distrusts the technology, is pressured into using it for a business trip from New York to San Francisco. When he tries to return to his own body, he learns it has been taken by a terrorist named Fisk, leaving him stranded in a cloned body with only two days before it expires. He has that much time to stop Fisk and recover what is his.

Allan Moyle directed the film, which came after Empire Records in his filmography and was followed by Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story. Christopher Pelham and Léopold St-Pierre wrote the screenplay, and Jean Desormeaux, Marc S. Grenier and Stephen Ujlaki produced. The cast includes Stephen Baldwin, Pascale Bussières, Kim Coates and Kyle MacLachlan, among twenty-two credited performers. The Canadian science fiction production runs 105 minutes and took in about 5 million dollars worldwide.
