In 1804, a Chinese priest named Kah travels to Transylvania and awakens Count Dracula in his mausoleum. Dracula takes over Kah's body and travels to a Chinese village, where he raises a cult of seven golden vampires and terrorises the local population. Around a century later, Professor Lawrence Van Helsing lectures on the existence of vampires at a Chinese university, where a young man named Hsi Ching tells him of his home village of Ping Kwei and its curse. Van Helsing mounts an expedition to destroy the vampires, joined by Hsi Ching and his brothers, all skilled in martial arts, and financed by the wealthy widow Vanessa Buren.
