Slime City is a 1988 horror film about a young man named Alex who moves into a rundown New York City building and encounters neighbors who brew a strange concoction in their apartment. After drinking it, Alex begins to transform into a deformed, murderous creature. His only way to hold the change back is to kill, which sends him on a desperate search for victims as he deteriorates further. The film blends body horror with a tale of urban paranoia.
Gregory Lamberson directed, wrote and produced the film, his first feature, made independently. The cast includes Robert C. Sabin as Alex, Mary Huner as Lori, T.J. Merrick as Jerry, Dennis Embry as Roman, Dick Biel as Detective O'Bannon and Jane Doniger Reibel as Lizzy. The film runs 81 minutes and was released in May 1988.
On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 from around 1,500 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 4.9 from 32 votes. The film has since become a minor cult title within low-budget horror. Lamberson went on to direct Undying Love in 1991 and Frenzy Moon in 2025.
