In one scene, Edward G. Robinson (1893-1973) was supposed to fire a pistol while facing the camera. Many takes were ruined because the actor, when pulling the trigger, involuntarily closed his eyes. In the end, his eyelids were taped open to keep his eyes open.
It is believed that Cesare Enrico Bandello is portrayed as Al Capone (1899-1947), but this opinion is incorrect. This image depicts Chicago gangster Salvatore “Sam” Cardinella (1869-1921).
