Love's Whirlpool

Eight strangers gather in an upscale apartment in Roppongi for a night of anonymous sex. The arrangement is simple: they meet for the first time in the evening, pay a fee to take part, and stay until morning. Among them are an unemployed young man who covers his entry fee with money from his parents, a university student whose ordinary appearance conceals a strong sexual appetite, a salaried worker, a childcare teacher, a part-time worker and an office lady. Over the course of the night, the participants' guarded public selves give way to something more exposed.

The film is a Japanese drama directed and written by Daisuke Miura, whose first feature it was before his later film Call Boy. It was produced by Makoto Fujimoto, Makoto Okada and Toshiki Kimura, and runs 123 minutes. Sosuke Ikematsu plays the unemployed Isamu Kato, with Mugi Kadowaki as the student Satomi Suzuki, alongside Kenichi Takitoh, Eriko Nakamura, Hirofumi Arai and Yoko Mitsuya.

Released in 2014, the film holds a 6.3 rating on IMDb from 552 votes and the same score on TMDB from 27 votes, indicating modest but consistent viewer responses across both platforms.
