The Editor

The Editor is a Canadian comedy-horror-mystery set in the Italian film industry of the 1970s. Rey Ciso was once a celebrated film editor, but an accident that cost him the fingers of one hand ended his career and left him cutting cheap exploitation pictures. When actors from the production he is currently working on begin turning up dead, the withdrawn editor becomes the main suspect. He sets out to clear his name while the bodies accumulate around him.

The film is directed by Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy, who also wrote the screenplay with Conor Sweeney. It is the third feature Brooks directed, after Fireman and Father's Day, and the second for Kennedy. Brooks and Kennedy produced it together. Brooks plays Rey Ciso, with Paz de la Huerta, Samantha Hill, Laurence R. Harvey, Matthew Kennedy and Conor Sweeney among the credited cast of twenty-two.

Released in 2014, the film runs 95 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from around 3,700 votes, while on TMDB its rating is 5.6 out of 10 from far fewer votes. A critics' rating of 5.2 out of 10 from twelve reviews places it below the larger IMDb audience figure.
