Speed Walking

Set in a small Danish town in 1976, this drama follows 14-year-old Martin as he prepares for his religious confirmation. His transition into adolescence is disrupted by the sudden death of his mother, an event that impacts both his family and the wider community. While his father and older brother are paralyzed by grief, Martin must navigate his sorrow alongside his first romantic and sexual awakenings. He seeks support through his relationships with his friend Kim and his girlfriend Kristine as he struggles to find his place in a mourning household.

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev, this film followed his work on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Dead Man Down.
