6 Years

Mel and Dan have been together since childhood, and at twenty they have already shared six years as a couple. Their relationship looks stable to those around them, but new opportunities begin to pull them in different directions. When the record label where Dan is interning offers him a job, he has to weigh a career he wants against the future Mel has imagined for them. What follows is a volatile and increasingly violent stretch that puts their bond and their plans at risk.

Hannah Fidell wrote and directed the film, her second feature after A Teacher in 2013. Taissa Farmiga plays Mel and Ben Rosenfield plays Dan, with Lindsay Burdge, Joshua Leonard, Jennifer Lafleur and Peter Vack among the supporting cast. The production, from Duplass Brothers Productions, runs eighty minutes.
