Ride Along 2
Short description
Ride Along 2 brings back Ben Barber, now a police officer, and his future brother-in-law James Payton, a veteran Atlanta detective. With Ben's wedding to James's sister Angela approaching, the two head to Miami to track down a drug supplier whose product is reaching Atlanta. The case draws them into a larger criminal operation on the Florida coast, and they get help from a local detective, Maya, and a chaotic hacker named A.J. Ben is eager to prove himself as an investigator, while James relies on experience and caution, and the trip tests the uneasy partnership between the two men.
Tim Story directed the film, the ninth of the fifteen features he has directed in chronological order, following Ride Along and preceding Shaft. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the screenplay, and Ice Cube produced alongside Larry Brezner and Will Packer. Kevin Hart and Ice Cube lead the cast, with Olivia Munn, Tika Sumpter, Ken Jeong and Tyrese Gibson in supporting roles. The production cost about 40 million USD and grossed roughly 125 million USD worldwide, a strong return against its budget. On TMDB it holds a 6.3 rating from 1,839 votes.
