Sleepless

Sleepless is a 2017 action crime thriller set in Las Vegas, where police officer Vincent Downs works undercover while secretly operating on the wrong side of the law. After a drug shipment is intercepted, a casino figure named Stanley Rubino retaliates by having Vincent's teenage son abducted, demanding the stolen narcotics back in exchange for the boy. Over the course of a single night, Vincent must track down the kidnappers, stay ahead of an internal affairs investigation led by detective Jennifer Bryant, and decide where his loyalties truly lie. The film is a remake of the 2011 French thriller Nuit blanche.

Baran bo Odar directed, following his earlier features The Silence and Who Am I; Andrea Berloff wrote the screenplay, and Roy Lee and Adam C. Stone produced. Jamie Foxx leads as Vincent, with Michelle Monaghan, Dermot Mulroney, Scoot McNairy, David Harbour and T.I. among the supporting cast.

Released in January 2017, the film carries a budget of 30 million USD and a worldwide gross of roughly 33 million USD, a modest return. On IMDb it holds 5.6/10 from about 36,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.9/10 from around 1,374 votes. The critics' rating stands at 4.3/10 from 60 reviews, noticeably below the audience scores.
