Short description
A teacher on a Greek island becomes involved in bizarre mind-games with the island's magus (magician) and a beautiful young woman.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film was shot in Calvi (a municipality in the west of Mallorca). Because of this, the beach is still called El Mago.
- The only screenplay written by John Fowles (1926-2005).
- Disappointed with the 1965 film adaptation of his novel 'The Collector' directed by William Wyler, John Fowles insisted on writing the screenplay himself.
- The film is set in Greece, but was mostly shot in Spain.
