Bad Santa 2

Bad Santa 2 returns to the misadventures of Willie Soke, a career criminal who once made a living robbing department stores while posing as a shopping-mall Santa. This time he and his longtime accomplice Marcus, who is short in stature and quick to anger, set their sights on a charity in Chicago on Christmas Eve. Willie's young friend Thurman Merman, now grown, is along for the ride, as is Willie's mother Sunny, a woman whose presence pushes the group's plans toward something bigger and messier. Willie also finds himself drawn to Diane, the woman who runs the charity.

Mark Waters directed the film, the tenth of the fifteen features he has made in chronological order, following Salem Rogers and preceding Magic Camp. Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox and Brett Kelly reprise their roles from the earlier film, with Kathy Bates joining as Sunny, Christina Hendricks as Diane and Ryan Hansen as Regent Hastings. The screenplay is by Shauna Cross and Johnny Rosenthal. Released in November 2016, the comedy was made for about 26 million dollars and earned roughly 24 million worldwide, falling short of its budget.
