Short description
A newly-released prison gangster is forced by the leaders of his gang to orchestrate a major crime with a brutal rival gang on the streets of Southern California.
What's left behind the scenes
- Volyn, played by Jon Bernthal, has a "PEN1" tattoo on his neck. It stands for "Enemy of the State No. 1." A street gang with that name operates in Orange County, California.
- Filming took place in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and New Mexico.
- To write the script, director Rick Roman Waugh researched prison gangs, posing as a police agent working undercover as a recently paroled criminal. This helped him gather authentic material about inmates and prison guards.
