Kelly, a teenage gymnast, is hiding in her boyfriend's family home when a group of armed men break in and take the household hostage. The intruders want the boyfriend's father, who works at a cash depot, to help them pull off a robbery. Kelly stays out of sight and, cut off from any outside help, decides to act on her own, using her athletic training to move through the house and take on the intruders without putting the captives at greater risk.
Tiger House is a British and South African production directed by Tom Daley from a screenplay by Simon Lewis, and it runs a tight 80 minutes. Kaya Scodelario leads as Kelly, with Ed Skrein, Dougray Scott, Brandon Auret, Langley Kirkwood and Julie Summers in supporting roles. The film's ratings place it in middling territory: on IMDb it sits at 5.2 out of 10 across roughly 5,200 votes, while on TMDB it holds 5.5 out of 10 from about 300 votes. The two audience scores are close to each other and point to a modest reception for the confined, single-location thriller.
