Marnie Piper arrives at Witch University in Halloweentown, a school housed in her family's ancestral castle, eager to study magic. What she finds instead is a campus where spellwork is forbidden and the curriculum leans toward ordinary subjects, and where the Sinister Sisters take an interest in her. When a Cromwell family amulet surfaces, Marnie and her brother Dylan must work out its secret before it is turned against Halloweentown.
The film is the fourth in the Halloweentown series and the only one directed by David Jackson, whose other directing credits are Death Train and, later, Cup of Love. Sara Paxton takes over the role of Marnie from Kimberly J. Brown, appearing alongside Judith Hoag as Gwen, Joey Zimmerman as Dylan, Lucas Grabeel, Kristy Wu and Keone Young. Don Schain produced the television film, which runs 88 minutes.
Released in October 2006 and made for television, it is the third and most recent entry in the series to be released in the 2000s. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 636 votes, indicating a generally favourable response from viewers.
