One Wild Moment

Antoine and Laurent are lifelong friends who take their annual summer holiday together in Corsica, each accompanied by his teenage daughter. Antoine is the stricter parent, with firm rules that chafe against his seventeen-year-old, Louna, while Laurent, whose daughter Marie has just turned eighteen, takes a more relaxed approach. One night on the beach, Louna sets out to seduce Laurent, and he gives in. For her the encounter becomes something serious, but he treats it as a passing lapse and regrets it immediately. Louna, unwilling to name the man, confides in her father, and Antoine starts pressing to find out who his daughter has become involved with, unaware that the answer is the friend standing beside him.

The film is a French drama directed by Jean-François Richet, who wrote the screenplay with Lisa Azuelos. It is one of a handful of features he made during the 2000s and 2010s, arriving between Blood Father and The Emperor of Paris. Vincent Cassel plays Laurent and François Cluzet plays Antoine, with Lola Le Lann as Louna and Alice Isaaz as Marie; Philippe Nahon and Annelise Hesme appear in supporting roles. Ratings land in mixed territory, with a 6.2 out of 10 on IMDb across roughly 11,000 votes and a slightly lower 5.8 on TMDB from about a thousand users, suggesting a modest, divided response from viewers.
