The Rezort

After a global zombie outbreak is brought under control, humanity rebuilds and turns the crisis into a tourist attraction. On an isolated island, a heavily secured resort lets paying guests hunt the undead, who are kept behind barriers and released for organised safaris. The hunting is presented as a form of therapy for people still dealing with the trauma of the outbreak.

Melanie, who watched her parents turn into zombies when she was a child, travels to the resort with a group of guests. When the park's systems fail, the barriers no longer hold, and the visitors find themselves hunted by the very creatures they came to shoot.

Steve Barker directed the film, his second feature after Outpost in 2008, from a screenplay by Paul Gerstenberger. Dougray Scott plays Archer, with Jessica De Gouw as Melanie, Martin McCann as Lewis, Elen Rhys as Sadie, Jassa Ahluwalia as Jack and Claire Goose as Wilton. The production was a Belgian, British and Spanish co-production involving uMedia, Creative Scotland, The Kraken Films and Black Camel Pictures, running 87 minutes.

Reception was modest: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.3 from around 10,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5.5 from roughly 400 votes, indicating a limited but engaged audience.
