Bite

Casey is about to get married, and her friends take her away for a bachelorette trip before the wedding. During the getaway she is bitten by an unfamiliar insect. The bite seems minor at first, but once she is home and having second thoughts about the marriage, her body and behaviour begin to change. She develops insect-like traits, and as the physical transformation and her wedding anxiety mount, she gives in to new instincts and starts building a hive that holds her eggs and feeds on human flesh.

Bite is a Canadian horror film directed by Chad Archibald from a screenplay by Jayme Laforest, produced by Cody Calahan. It followed Archibald's Ejecta in 2014 and came before I'll Take Your Dead and It Feeds. Elma Begovic plays Casey, with Jordan Gray, Annette Wozniak, Denise Yuen, Tianna Nori and Caroline Palmer in supporting roles. The film runs 90 minutes and was released in July 2015.

Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds 4.9 out of 10 from around 6,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 200 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 19 reviews places it slightly above those viewer scores, though all three sit in mixed territory.
