Eloise has been removed from her duties as maid of honor after the best man breaks up with her by text message. Rather than stay away, she goes to the wedding anyway, where she is seated at Table 19, the spot reserved for guests the couple could not easily leave off the list but did not want near the center of attention. There she meets five people she does not know, among them a woman married to a man who resents her, a young man hoping to find romance, a guest newly out of prison, the bride's former nanny, and a relative of the bride's brother. What begins as an awkward arrangement becomes something more as the strangers at the table get to know one another.
The film is a comedy-drama directed by Jeffrey Blitz, who also wrote the screenplay, working from a story by the Duplass brothers. Anna Kendrick leads the cast as Eloise, with Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant and Tony Revolori among the table's other guests.
It was released in March 2017 and runs 87 minutes. Produced by Shawn Levy, Tom McNulty and P. Jennifer Dana for 21 Laps Entertainment, Story Ink and 3311 Productions, it had a budget of 5 million dollars and took in roughly the same amount worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.8/10 from about 33,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9/10 from just over a thousand. A critics' rating of 4.6/10 from 118 reviews places it below both audience scores.
