Short description

Egyptian gods summon the angel Lucifer, in order to usher in a new occult age.

What's left behind the scenes

Kenneth Anger began filming "Lucifer Rising" in 1966, but most of the footage was stolen. Work on the film dragged on throughout the 70s and was not completed until 1980.
Filming took place in Egypt, Germany, and England in locations where a sun cult had existed in the past.
The music for the film "Sunrise of Lucifer" was recorded by guitarist Bobby Beausoleil, a member of Charles Manson's "Family," in Tracy prison, where the musician is serving a life sentence for complicity in the murder of Sharon Tate.
