Bridge of Dragons is an action film set in a future shaped by war, where a mercenary named Warchild works for General Ruechang, the man who oversaw his training. Ruechang wants to seize power by marrying Princess Halo, but she learns he murdered her father and flees rather than go through with it. Warchild is sent to bring her back, and instead the two fall in love, turning him against his employer and his forces.
The film was directed by Isaac Florentine, his first feature in a career that continued with Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, Ninja and its sequel, and later titles including Seized, Hounds of War and Hellfire. Carlton Holder wrote the screenplay, and Dolph Lundgren plays Warchild opposite Valerie Chow as Princess Halo, with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as General Ruechang. Gary Hudson, John Bennett and Scott L. Schwartz appear in supporting roles. It was produced by Nu Image and Millennium Media, with Boaz Davidson, Danny Lerner and Yoram Barzilai producing, and runs 92 minutes.
The film draws a mixed response. On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 33 reviews, while on TMDB it has a rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 96 votes, a slightly warmer audience figure that nonetheless points to modest overall enthusiasm. Released in mid-1999, it remains an early entry in Florentine's filmography.
