Meredith Rossman has devoted herself so completely to the family department store that neither Christmas nor romance has had much room in her life. Pressured into wearing the store's antique Mrs. Claus costume for the holiday season at Rossman's Santaville, she finds the experience nudging her in directions she did not expect. Working alongside Nick, the charming man hired to play Santa, she rediscovers her feelings for the season, for the store and the people who keep it running, and perhaps for Nick himself. Around them, colleagues such as Jessie and former Broadway dancer Olivia are facing their own turning points during the holidays.
Charming Christmas is a Canadian television film directed by Craig Pryce, released in 2015. It followed Pryce's earlier holiday and fantasy-tinged television work, The Good Witch in 2008 and Fir Crazy in 2013, and was written by Karen McClellan. Julie Benz leads the cast as Meredith, with David Sutcliffe as Nick, and Bruce Gray and Catherine McNally as her parents, Harold and Cheryl Rossman. Vanessa Matsui and Ashley Leggat appear as Olivia Todd and Jessie Derringer.
The film runs 84 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.2 from around 2,100 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.6 from a much smaller pool of 58 votes. Those figures point to a modest but reasonably liked television production with a modest sampling, and the wider vote count on IMDb suggests it found a steady seasonal audience.
