Bad Moms

Bad Moms is a comedy about Amy, a mother of two who appears to manage a happy marriage, a nice home and a demanding job, while in reality she is running herself ragged trying to keep every part of her life under control. When the pressure becomes too much, she teams up with two other mothers who are equally fed up with the endless obligations of parenting. Together they decide to stop chasing an impossible standard of perfection and start enjoying themselves instead, which puts them on a collision course with Gwendolyn, the domineering head of the school parents' association, and her circle of devoted "perfect" mothers.

The film was written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the duo behind 21 & Over. It is the second feature they directed, followed by A Bad Moms Christmas, Jexi and Spa Weekend. Mila Kunis plays Amy, with Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell as her two allies, and Christina Applegate as Gwendolyn. Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo also appear.

Made for about 20 million dollars, the film took in roughly 184 million worldwide, a strong return on its budget that helped launch a follow-up. Audience response has been moderate: IMDb users rate it 6.2 out of 10 from around 141,000 votes, while the TMDB average is 6.5 from more than 4,300 ratings. A critics' score of 5.6 from 171 reviews places it somewhat below the audience figures.
