Sweet Sugar

Sweet Sugar is a 1972 American action drama directed by Michel Levesque from a screenplay by Don Spencer. Phyllis Davis stars as Sugar Bowman, a woman who, after being caught in a drug bust, accepts a sentence of hard labor on a sugarcane plantation rather than time behind bars. The plantation is run by Dr. John, played by Angus Duncan, who uses the inmates for medical experiments, while the guards subject the women to routine brutality. Sugar soon sets her mind on escape, first alone and later alongside other prisoners.
