The Pass

The Pass is a British drama about two professional footballers, Jason and Ade, who have come up through the academy of a London club since childhood. On the night before an important match in Romania, the nineteen-year-olds share a hotel room and, unable to settle, fool around until one of them kisses the other. That moment shapes the decade that follows, as the two men take very different paths through a sport where public image is everything and Jason goes to great lengths to keep his sexuality hidden. Ten years later they meet again in a hotel room in Manchester.

Ben A. Williams directed the film from a screenplay by John Donnelly, with Duncan Kenworthy producing. Russell Tovey plays Jason and Arinzé Kene plays Ade, and the cast also includes Lisa McGrillis, Nico Mirallegro and Rory J. Saper. It runs 87 minutes.

The Pass drew a critics' rating of 7.1/10 from 19 reviews, higher than its audience scores of 6.5/10 on IMDb and 6.3/10 on TMDB.
