Short description
I, Tonya dramatizes the life of American figure skater Tonya Harding, tracing her rise from a hardscrabble upbringing and a demanding mother to the upper ranks of competitive skating. Talented but frequently at odds with the sport's establishment, she becomes the first American woman to land a triple axel in competition. Her career and public standing collapse after an attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan, which is linked to Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly.
Craig Gillespie directed the film, his sixth feature, arriving between The Finest Hours and Cruella. Steven Rogers wrote the screenplay, and Margot Robbie, who plays Harding, produced alongside Rogers and Tom Ackerley.
