4bia is a Thai horror anthology made up of four short films, each directed by a different filmmaker. A lonely young woman recovering from a car accident begins exchanging text messages with a stranger and grows drawn to him, though something about the situation is not right. Separately, a student who has been bullied by classmates turns to black magic for revenge. A group of friends on a camping and rafting trip trade ghost stories in the jungle, and their trip takes a turn for the worse. In the fourth segment, a flight attendant must accompany the body of a visiting princess being sent home for burial.
The four directors are Paween Purijitpanya, Parkpoom Wongpoom, Banjong Pisanthanakun and Yongyoot Thongkongtoon, with the screenplay credited to Thongkongtoon, Eakasit Thairaat and Purijitpanya. For Purijitpanya, Pisanthanakun and Wongpoom, it followed earlier work on Shutter and Alone and came before Phobia 2, the anthology's sequel. The cast includes Maneerat Kam-Uan, Witawat Singlampong, Apinya Sakuljaroensuk, Chon Wachananon, Nattapong Chatpong and Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk, among 46 credited performers.
Released in April 2008, the film runs 115 minutes and took in about 4 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.5/10 from around 4,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.2/10 from roughly 114 votes.
