Bomb City

Bomb City is a crime drama set in Amarillo, Texas, in the winter of 1997. It centers on Brian, a young punk known around town for his green mohawk and his devotion to punk music, who organizes shows with his friends at a run-down club called Bomb City. Brian and his circle refuse to fall in line with the conservative culture around them, and their appearance provokes hostility in the community. That tension hardens into an open rivalry with Cody Cates, a high school football player aligned with a group calling themselves the White Hatters. After a lost football game, a fight between the two sides sets off a series of hostile encounters that eventually erupt into a violent street confrontation. The film is based on the true story of Brian Deneke, and its aftermath raises questions about the moral foundations of American justice.

The film was directed by Jameson Brooks, who wrote the screenplay with Sheldon Chick. Dave Davis plays Brian, with Glenn Morshower as Cameron Wilson, Luke Shelton as Cody Cates, Henry Knotts as King, Logan Huffman as Ricky and Ron Lester as Coach Kaz, among a credited cast of 38. Released in March 2017, it runs 98 minutes and was produced by Bomb City Films, 3rd Identity Films and Sumerian Films.
