In a near-future society, total government surveillance has eliminated privacy and anonymity by recording all human memories. This system has nearly erased crime until detective Sal Frieland begins investigating a series of murders. During his search, he encounters a mysterious young woman who exists outside the system with no recorded history or identity. Frieland must track her down as he discovers that this lack of transparency may signal the emergence of a new era of criminality.
