Erasmus, a celebrity chef, and Paul, his partner, live a comfortable and extravagant life together, working and spending nearly every moment side by side. Their routine is upended when a ten-year-old boy named Bill arrives at their door and claims to be Erasmus's grandson. Neither man is prepared to give up his lifestyle to become a parent, and the boy's sudden presence forces them to reconsider what family means to them.

The film is a comedy drama directed by Andrew Fleming, who also wrote the screenplay. It is the eighth feature he directed, following Barefoot (2014). Steve Coogan plays Erasmus and Paul Rudd plays Paul, with Jack Gore as Bill, Alison Pill as Melissa and Jake McDorman as Beau. The cast numbers 46 credited performers. It was produced by Aaron Ryder, Clark Peterson and Maxime Rémillard, and made by Baby Cow Productions, Lucky Monkey Pictures, Mustard & Co and Remstar Studios, with a budget of 10 million USD.
