Short description
Two U.S. soldiers in Iraq, a shooter and his spotter, find themselves pinned down in open ground by an Iraqi marksman. One of them leaves cover to check the apparently quiet area and is hit, forcing his comrade to drag him behind the only protection available: a low stretch of brick and concrete. What follows is a standoff in which the two sides can hear each other but barely see each other, and only one is likely to walk away.
Doug Liman directed the film from a screenplay by Dwain Worrell. It is the ninth of the fourteen features Liman has directed in chronological order, arriving between American Made and Chaos Walking. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Isaac, John Cena plays Matthews, and Laith Nakli voices the Iraqi sniper Juba. The production had a budget of 3 million USD and grossed 5 million USD worldwide.
On IMDb the film holds a critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 125 reviews, while on TMDB it has a rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 1,079 votes, so audience and critical assessments sit fairly close together, both landing in moderate territory. The film runs 90 minutes and was released on May 12, 2017.
